Topboss Rider Profile - Nico

Nico Zietsman, 30 years old, race #79, currently racing a ZX10R 07 in the Breakfast Run class.

From a young age I had a huge passion for bikes, but due to circumstances I could never afford a bike, however everything changed for me 3 years ago when my business became more successful. My first bike was the ZX9R and it was great. About a year later my uncle ( Jacques Mostert ) and nephew ( Rankin Mostert ) introduced me to track riding. The “bug” got me so big that I sold the ZX9 and bought the ZX10. I did a couple of track days and said to them I would like to race with them in the Breakfast Run class. So that’s how things started….

My first race was in May 2009 at Zwartkops. In my first race I qualified 16th out of 17 riders in the B group and finished overall in the 12th position with a best time of 1:13.073.

After Zwartkops, it was Phakisa. Qualified 32nd out of 47 riders and finished overall in 33rd place with a best time of 1:54.918. Then it was Zwartkops again and this time I was ready for the guys. Qualified in pole position in the B group, I had a rough start but in the end I won the trophy for first place.
