The New Ducati 2010 Nicky Hayden Edition

Ducati North America boasts it's newest addition to its brilliant range, the Ducati 848 Nicky Hayden 2010 Special Edition. The Ducati 2010 special edition 848 was unveiled at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca before thousands of devoted fans.

In honor of America's Independence Day 4th July, Ducati has celebrated American World Champion Nicky Hayden with a special USA themed 848. This exclusive USA model was unveiled, Saturday July 4 on Ducati Island at the USGP with Nicky Hayden and Ducati CEO Gabriele Del Torchio. The highly advanced Ducati 848 engine uses a new and improved method of engine case production in which cases are vacuum die-cast formed. While providing weight savings of more than 3kg, this new method also ensures consistent wall thickness and increased strength. Further engineering includes a sophisticated wet clutch that offers a further 1kg less weight, a much higher service life, improved clutch feel and quiet operation.

With the first crank of the wrist, the powerful rush of the Ducati 848 engine confirms that the rules have changed. The 848 is not only 30% more powerful than its predecessor, but it provides a power-to-weight ratio even better than the potent 999.

Nicky Hayden Rides Again

Nicky Hayden, happy to stay with Ducati for the 2010 season, as the Marlboro Ducati team exercised their option on the American rider. We had originally expected this announcement at Indianapolis last weekend, after earlier news suggested we’d here about the contract, one way or another, before the month of September. But, better late than never, the news helps sure up the paddock for the 2010 season. Ducati Corse announced on Thursday that Nicky Hayden will sign a further one year extension to his current agreement and will line up alongside Casey Stoner for the Ducati Marlboro team 2010.
